What is the Meaning of World Water Day? What Can Be Done Special for Water Day?
According to the decision adopted by the United Nations on 22 March 1993, 22 March was declared as World Water Day. The aim here is to draw attention to the growing problem of clean water. Although most of the earth is water, the amount of usable water is 2.5%, while the amount of potable water is around 1%. When we look at the world, there are 1.6 billion people who do not have access to clean and safe water, and 4 billion people suffer from water shortages for at least 1 month a year. The following World Water Day themes have been identified since 2005:

What Can Be Done Special for March 22 Water Day?

The faucet should be turned off, unless necessary, during the use of the sink and shower.

Morning hours should be preferred to water the plants. Because evaporation is less during these hours.

To wash fruits and vegetables, washing should be done by making a cup of water with vinegar. If it is washed under running water, it will lose a lot of water.

Drip irrigation should be preferred instead of a hose or sprinkler in gardens.

If possible, rainwater harvesting should be done. The water collected here in; the garden, car wash, etc. should be used at work.
