7 June World Food Safety Day
It is used as the World Food Safety Day every year, 7 June, to reduce the risks to the health of consumers.
The purpose of the World Food Safety Day, which is celebrated on June 7 every year, is to raise awareness around the world on food safety. And thus, to reduce the risks to the health of consumers and to ensure the widespread use of food safety practices in the food sector. World Food Safety Day, which is celebrated regularly every year, is a very important opportunity to create a more conscious and healthy society together with both consumers and the food industry.
A different theme is chosen every year on World Food Security Day, which is celebrated under the leadership of the United Nations FAO (WTO-World Agriculture Organization). This year's theme is 'food standards save lives'.
More than 200 diseases are transmitted through food. Every year, 1 in 10 people have a foodborne illness. And about 420 thousand people die from food security.
These numbers can be avoided if Food Security can be ensured at every stage from farm to fork. There are 3 basic principles of food safety. These;
1. Prevention of contamination of food by factors harmful to health
2. Preventing the proliferation and spread of harmful factors in food
3. Removal or neutralization of harmful factors from food by appropriate methods.
The World Food Safety Panel "Food Safety Policies in Turkey" seminar was held by the Chamber of Food Engineers.
