Volkswagen Group, which plans to launch the new ID.7 model in the next 3 years, is preparing 17 new electric models among its plans. Only in 2023, the new ID.3, long-wheelbase ID. Buzz and ID.7 were introduced.
The ID.7, the first fully electric Volkswagen model in the upper-middle-class segment, will provide up to 700 km of range thanks to its more efficient powertrain system and aerodynamic design. The world premiere of the new ID.7 in the upper middle class was held. The range of up to 700 kilometers (WLTP), advanced powertrain systems, spacious interior, and high-level technologies make the ID.7 comfortable for long-distance journeys.
The interior features a 15-inch infotainment screen, an augmented reality head-up display, a new climate control concept integrated into the infotainment system, freely assignable favorite buttons, and a backlit touch slider.
The new electric powertrain is optimized above all for energy consumption. A charging capacity of up to 200 kW is envisaged. The first MEB model with a high-efficiency powertrain. The power unit named APP550 is the most powerful and torquey electric drive motor in the Volkswagen ID series with 210 kW/286 PS. It is produced in Kassel (Germany).
With the "Travel Assist" application, driving information can be recorded and, if necessary, the ID.7 can take over lateral and vertical control. If desired, the ID.7 uses the "Travel Assist" function to support lane changes at speeds above 90 km/h on multi-lane highways. The driver continues to control this function, but driving fatigue is significantly reduced.
The CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars said, "We will offer the widest range of electric products in Europe. Our goal is for 80% of our sales in Europe to be electric by 2030. From 2033, Volkswagen will only produce electric vehicles in Europe."
