ELECTRIC VEHICLE SALES CONTINUE TO INCREASE
According to the data compiled by the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD), total automobile and light commercial vehicle sales in Turkey increased by 55 percent in the period covering January-March this year compared to the same period last year. It amounted to 235 thousand 971.
In the first quarter of 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, gasoline automobile sales increased by 40.6%, diesel automobile sales increased by 75.2%, and auto gas automobile sales decreased by 1.4%.
In January, February, and March of 2023, sales increased by more than 300% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Automobile sales increased by 50.1 percent to 175 thousand 421 units, while light commercial vehicle sales increased by 71.9 percent to 60 thousand 550 units.
Electric car sales in our country increased by 335.2% in January, February, and March of 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year, and reached 4,670 units, while the market share of electric cars approached 3%.

In the Turkish automobile market, in the first three months of this year, gasoline cars took the first place with 117 thousand 650 units, while diesel cars took the second place with 31 thousand 465 units.
Hybrid car sales were 18,874, while autogas cars were 2,762.
Electric car sales, on the other hand, surpassed auto gas car sales with 4,670 units.
The share of electric cars in total sales increased from 0.9% to 2.7%, while the share of hybrid cars increased from 9.7% to 10.8%.
During the year, many brands offered their ambitious models, which were announced before, for sale in the Turkish market.
In addition to the Skywell brand, Chery's electric models are expected to be on the roads of our country soon.
