Automobile Production and Export Data of 2023 are Announced
In January of 2023, the total production of our country increased by 24% compared to January of 2022, reaching 111837 units, while automobiles increased by 48% to 70723 units.
Together with the new year, automobile / vehicle production and export numbers and automobile market data for the first month of 2023 were announced by the Automotive Industry Association.
In the light of the data announced by the Automotive Industry Association, it has been reported that total production in January 2023 increased by 24% compared to January 2022 and reached 111837 units, while automobile production increased by 48% to 70723 units. It has been announced that this number has increased not only as automobiles, but with the production of Tractors, and the total number of vehicles produced is 116730.
In the light of the follow-up statement by the Automotive Industry Association, commercial vehicle production in January 2023 decreased by 4% compared to January 2022.
While the number of vehicles produced in the heavy commercial vehicle scale increased by 56% in January 2023, it was stated that there was an 8% decrease in the number of vehicles produced in the light commercial vehicle segment. Again, while the number of commercial vehicles used in freight and passenger transportation decreased by 4%, the number of tractor production increased by 36% and 4893 units were produced.
When these production data and the reflections of these produced vehicles on the market economy are examined, it is seen that the commercial vehicle market grew by 51%, the light commercial vehicle market by 49% and the heavy commercial vehicle market by 62%.
When the export data, which has an important place in reducing the current account deficit, are evaluated according to the data in the automobile market, automotive exports in January 2023 increased by 17% on unit basis compared to January 2022, and reached 79381 units. Automobile exports, on the other hand, increased by 46% and reached 51122 units. Tractor exports, which are at the forefront of agricultural technology other than automobiles, increased by 25% and reached the export data as 1718 units.
Automotive industry exports ranked first with a share of 14% in total exports in January 2023, and we understand that it is the leading sector in reducing its effects on the current account deficit.
