Continuing to work for stray animals to hold on to life and find new homes, Avcılar Municipality Veterinary Affairs Directorate Stray Animals Shelter hosted students of Istanbul Gelişim University, Public Relations and Social Responsibility Club and faculty members of Istanbul Gelişim University.
Veterinarian Neşe Yıldırım informed the club students and faculty members about the shelter's operation, activities and animals in the shelter. Then, the shelter was visited and the stray animals in the shelter were visited.
Avcılar Municipality Veterinary Affairs Manager Pervin Kırmızı stated that they were very happy with the visit of Istanbul Gelişim University students and teachers and expressed that they wished that awareness activities for the protection and rehabilitation of stray animals would be increased in all institutions.
Avcılar Municipality Veterinary Affairs Directorate Veterinarian Neşe Yıldırım said, “Today, most people prefer pet shops to own animals. It is very important for us to raise awareness in our society that those who want to adopt animals prefer shelters and animal care centers of municipalities instead of pet shops.” Said.
Istanbul Gelisim University Public Relations and Social Responsibility Club handed over blankets, diapers and food aids for the animals to sleep on during the winter months, and the visit was concluded.
