SunExpress, a joint venture of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, continues to add value to Turkish tourism by making non-stop flights to more than 175 destinations in 30 countries with its 30 years of experience in aviation. While the airline has carried more than 8 million passengers since the first quarter of 2022, it increased its capacity for October after September in order to meet the continuing need after the summer period. The additional capacity created after the summer reached 1000 flights.
SunExpress has carried more than 8 million passengers on its flights since the beginning of the year, with an average occupancy rate of 86%. While there was a double increase in passenger traffic compared to the same period of the previous year, the figures for 2019 before the pandemic were also left behind. SunExpress, which increased its capacity for September and October to meet the rising demand for holiday travel after the pandemic, planned 1000 new flights in a process where flight cancellations were experienced in the area. The company is expected to exceed its target of carrying 10 million passengers for 2022 before the end of the year.
