Great Support from İGA to the “Lift Wings to Dreams” Project

Regarding the project, which was organized in cooperation with the Turkish Spastic Children Foundation, IGA Istanbul Airport assumed all the obligations for 50 children to receive 8 sessions of technology-based rehabilitation treatment. Within the scope of the agreement signed by Istanbul Airport operator İGA and the Turkish Spastic Children Foundation (Cerebral Palsy Turkey), the process of the “Open Wings to Dreams” project, which provides technology-based rehabilitation services to children with cerebral palsy, was put into service. IGA Istanbul Airport, adopting the work called "Barrier-Free Airport" and transforming accessibility into a part of its main purpose, advances the concept of an accessible airport beyond the standards with the aim of "an airport for everyone". In this context, the presentation of the project, which was prepared together with the Turkish Spastic Children Foundation, was held at the Istanbul Airport International Departures Terminal. With the project, which was put into action on the occasion of the 3 December International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the website “hayallerekanatac.com” was put into service in order to raise awareness in the diagnosis of cerebral palsy.
Speaking at the launch where the project was hosted by actress Ceyda Düvenci, İGA Deputy General Manager for Operations Mehmet Büyükkaytan stated that Istanbul Airport was built on accessibility. Büyükkaytan said that there are many various studies in this sector and that they will continue to work in this sense, “Open Wings to Dreams project is very valuable in this sense. We will support 50 children throughout the project.” said. “Every year, 6,000 babies are diagnosed with cerebral palsy in Turkey,” he said.
