Artificial Intelligence has Reached This Industry, too

While the worldwide awareness of ChatGPT software has increased without slowing down, it has also started to be used directly in the businesses of different companies and different sectors. When this is the case, it is seen that people have started to take their place in the works done by people until recently.

While the worldwide awareness of ChatGPT software has increased without slowing down, it has also started to be used directly in the businesses of different companies and different sectors. When this is the case, it is seen that people have started to take their place in the work done by people until recently.
When this was the case, the software world entered the media sector and started to use artificial intelligence and news production. Axel Springer has announced that with today's developing technology, there is no need for human employees in different branches and it will make layoffs. The company stated that only publishers that can produce original content can survive.
Mathias Doepfner, CEO of Axel Springer, one of the media companies, said that as a reflection of current technological developments, layoffs will be made due to artificial intelligence programs like ChatGPT.
In the continuation of the CEO statement, While seeing Bild and Die Welt, operating under the roof of the media company, aim to increase their revenues, he announced that layoffs are very soon because automation and artificial intelligence provide content production for the journalism sector, so the need for human labor will decrease rapidly.
In the e-mail sent by the CEO to his current staff, he stated that artificial intelligence programs such as ChatGPT, which are highly known, promise a "revolution" in information and will be better than human journalists in matters such as "information gathering" soon.
As a result of this situation, the CEO said that only those who create the best original content will be able to stay in the industry soon.
On the other hand, Axel Springer is not the first news publisher to try the use of artificial intelligence in original news broadcasting. In January 2023, BuzzFeed announced that it was using artificial intelligence to print its content and online quizzes.
The German media organization is not alone in this regard, the CEO of the UK-based Daily Mirror and Daily Express newspapers said in a statement to the famous Financial Times that he established a working group to examine "the potential and limitations of machine learning like ChatGPT".
