The students of IGU Istanbul Gelisim Vocational School Public Relations and Promotion Program visited the 2nd PenFest in Turkey within the scope of Media and Media Planning course, and had the opportunity to learn how to conduct a festival organization and public relations practices.
The students followed PenFest held at Çırağan Palace with the theme of ‘Istanbul at the top of Pen’ from the opening to the closing, and made analyzes and observations. The festival was opened with Presidential Spokesman İbrahim Kalın who made the opening, Parliamentarian Prof. Dr. Nabi Avcı and with Geoffrey Safford Parker, the grandson of the founder of the Parker brand George Parker, and interviews with many famous people and workshops were held during the festival. Students who participated in these activities came together with epitomes about brand image, brand management and public relations practices.
Havva Özge Ata and Damla Sanal, sophomore at Public Relations and Publicity, interviewed brand managers in the context of brand management in the fest and examined the details of the organization and produced reports. Head of the Department of Marketing and Advertising Lect. Fulya Beteş, Head of the Department of Public Relations and Publicity Program Lect. Atilla Akalın, Coordinator of Media and Media Planning Course Lect. Meltem İşler Sevindi, Coordinator of Brand and Brand Management Course Lect. Sevgi Kavut listened to the analysis and observations of the students after the festival.
