“Development Barriers Overcome in the Stand” amputee football support campaign

The project to support amputee football was implemented by university students.

Istanbul Gelişim University, Public Relations and Social Responsibility Club Consultant Assist. Prof. Emel Tozlu and Istanbul Gelişim Vocational School Public Relations and Publicity Program, under the leadership of Lect. Meltem İşler Sevindi, participated in the match of Istanbul Disabled Sports and Osmanlispor, which took place on Sunday, December 10, 2017 in the Amputee Football Super League organized by the TFF.

The students, who started their projects with the slogan "They Overcame the Obstacles, Became Our Pride", worked to raise awareness for amputees. Students, who filled the stadium with their intense participation on the match day, unfurled a banner "The Barriers are not in the Body, but in the Heart". The students, who cheered in support of both teams, created a visual feast by holding letters with their slogans in their hands. They chanted "The two captains hand in hand to the stands together" to invite both teams to the stands. During the match, they continued their support with the songs they wrote specially for the teams. At the end of the match, the students went down to the field and interviewed the coaches. Osmanlispor Coach İsmail Temiz said the following: “About 19% of the people living in Turkey are disabled, our athletes can make their voices heard thanks to people like you who have a sense of social responsibility. What you do should set an example for everyone, every school. Thank you for not leaving us alone today.” He gave the word to the team captain. Osmanlispor team captain Şeyhmus Erdinç: “We do not think we have enough support in our country and in the world, but we will overcome this together. We will announce our talents and voices with you and the press. We believe in this more thanks to you.” Afterwards, the students, who were photographed with the athletes, had an unhindered day.
