Cargo Delivery with Autonomous Drone
The first cargo delivery with an autonomous drone was made by Yurtiçi Kargo. Cargo transportation, which is rapidly moving towards autonomous systems in the world, will be carried out with drones. The first step in our country for the system, which has started to be used in developed countries, was taken by domestic cargo. Unlike drones that are guided by human control, Yurtiçi Cargo Drone, which does not need any pilot, flies between specially made cabinets. For the cargo embezzled by the courier, a high-lift autonomous drone arrives in the locker, picks up the cargo and delivers it to the smart lockers at the destination. The buyer can receive his cargo from the locker where the drone landed, with an SMS password transmitted by the system. Existing autonomous cargo UAVs can carry 25x25x15 cargo up to 5 kilos and can serve at temperatures between -20 and 50 degrees Celsius. Fatih Önyol, General Manager of Domestic Cargo, stated that they have started to make all investments in cargo drones. Önyol said that at the end of the legal process, which will be completed with the granting of the permits to be given by the state, the deliveries will start with the drone. In addition, “We will integrate a land vehicle among our unmanned cargo vehicles, which we also started with our autonomous drone project in 2023. In this way, a cargo delivered to the cargo locker by drone will be delivered to a plaza by an unmanned land vehicle. The Yurtiçi Cargo robot working in this plaza will be able to pick up the relevant cargo from our unmanned land vehicle and deliver it to the recipient. One of our projects will be on cargo robots, which we accelerate our work with domestic manufacturers. With our autonomous robots that can be integrated with elevators in plazas and receive work orders over the internet, we will reduce the burden on communications departments, especially in business centers.” said.
