 International Transportation and Logistics Service Producers Association conveyed their expectations for 2023




The International Transportation and Logistics Service Producers Association, known as UTİKAD, held a press conference where he shared his expectations for 2023 with the evaluations of logistics activities for 2022. At the meeting held in Istanbul, the results of the Turkish Logistics Sector Research conducted by UTİKAD were also mentioned. At the meeting attended by many names from the UTIKAD board of directors, UTIKAD Chairman of the Board Ayşem Ulusoy, Vice President Emre Eldener, Barış Dillioğlu, Bilgehan Engin, Members of the Board of Directors Arkın Obdan, Caner Aydın, Cihan Yusufi, Cihan Özkal, İsmail Tekin, Mehmet Özal, Serdar Ayrıtman, Serkan Eren, Yüksel Kahraman, UTIKAD Executive Board Members and press members were among the participants.

Making the opening speech, UTIKAD Chairman of the Board Ayşem Ulusoy mentioned that the logistics industry had to deal with many problems both regionally and globally for the year 2022. Ulusoy also conveyed the activities they carried out for the year 2022, which we left behind as UTIKAD. He underlined the webinars organized on a wide range of issues, from informing the members for the risks that arise in the form of the reflection of the global crisis in the economic field in 2022. Ulusoy continued her words as follows: ’’ In addition to the Generation Z webinars with the Global Financial Economy Evaluation, we brought together the experts in the fields of education with our members. Through our social media accounts, we tried to provide access to all our stakeholders within the scope of the logistics sector. We also determined the problems with the expectations through the 'Member Meetings', where we meet with the representatives of our member companies in five cities. We organized university meetings to enable us to be together with young people. We included their expectations in our plans for the future ‘’.
Continuing her assessments of the logistics sector for 2022 and her words on the activities of UTIKAD, Ulusoy stated the following:’’ We have taken the problems that need to be resolved urgently, such as stagnation in the global economy, rising energy prices, changes in trade routes due to war and long TIR queues that manifest at the border gates. In addition, we have made suggestions for the solution in our meetings’’.

At the press conference, the sectoral expectations and predictions of UTİKAD for 2023 were expressed in the following headings:
• Realization of simplifications in the number of authorization certificates.
• Realizing investments that will support the logistics infrastructure of our country, and realizing investment activities for the infrastructure that will connect the railway network with logistics centers.
• Strengthening the infrastructure of the railway network.
• Ensuring that transportation activities can be carried out without interruptions.
• Improvement of transit transportation, revision of entry conditions and TIO qualifications.
• Realizing the adaptation of the opportunities provided by Industry 4.0 and Blockchain technology to the sector.
• Raising awareness for the digital world.
• Providing support for digital infrastructure together with technological investments.
• The positive acceleration of the 12th Development Plan in the field of transportation and logistics.
• Strengthening foreign investments. Normalization of freight levels. Carrying out legislation and adaptation activities for the green transformation of the sector.
• Strengthening e-export with e-commerce.
