 Sustainable Material Facade Cladding System




A slate cladding system called Cupaclad was developed by Cupa Pizarras, an architectural cladding brand, to display its aesthetic quality as well as being a building insulation material. Developed sustainably and ecologically for use in modern architectural designs, slate cladding is defined as a natural beauty and an innovative cladding system.
To create the Cupa Pizarras cladding system increases the heat and sound insulation of the building by attaching the natural slate to the exterior of the buildings with a gap for ventilation.
Using the extremely durable tectonic slate, this product is presented as a completely sustainable alternative to be used on any facade, with new fastening systems and ventilation curtain wall application being efficient.
The slate material was chosen for its durability and durability against harsh weather conditions. It is a material that has a usage period of more than a hundred years after being applied on the facade. It is also a highly resistant, non-combustible product.
Cupaclad, a handmade and easy-to-install façade material that doesn't require chemical treatments, was chosen as the exterior cladding of the University of Southern New Hampshire's College of Engineering, Technology, and Aeronautics. The selected coating type is the Cupaclad 101 Random product, which consists of slate pieces of different sizes that allow it to create a dynamic surface on facades and roofs.
Cupaclad material allows buildings to earn 19 points in the LEED environmental certification program. Many buildings that use Cupaclad have achieved LEED Gold statuses, such as the Fairfield Library and the California community center Palisades Recreation Center.
