Regarding the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023, the Chamber of Architects Central Board of Directors prepared the "Chamber of Architects 6 February 2023 Earthquake Detection and Evaluation Report" within the scope of the investigations carried out in the region.

According to the data of Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute, after the earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 in Sofalaca-Şehitkamil-Gaziantep on February 6, 2023, a second earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 was experienced in the center of Ekinözü-Kahramanmaraş. Earthquakes covering Southeast Anatolia, Eastern Anatolia, Central Anatolia and Mediterranean Regions caused a large area to be affected.
After these two earthquakes, another 6.4 earthquake occurred in Büyükçat-Samandağ-Hatay on February 20, 2023. This earthquake affected the Mediterranean, Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia Regions and nearly 14 million of our citizens living in Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye and Şanlıurfa were damaged by the earthquake.
According to the official data announced, a total of 42,310 people have lost their lives so far.
We respectfully commemorate our citizens who lost their lives in these devastating disasters. We hope the injured get well soon and the wounds healed.
Since the first day of the disaster, studies have been carried out on the post-disaster response, detection and recovery process for the region. In addition to these studies, the delegation formed by the Central Board of the Chamber of Architects conducted on-site inspections and determinations between 11-16 February 2023 and prepared the "Chamber of Architects 6 February 2023 Earthquake Detection and Evaluation Report".
In the light of its expertise and social responsibilities, the Chamber of Architects presented to the public the report it prepared within the scope of society and public interest with the aim of creating healthy and safe urbanization and living spaces.
