“What You Wonder About Architecture and Interior Architecture”

In the Interior Design Program, a conference titled “What You Wonder About Architecture and Interior Architecture” was held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. Our graduate student, architectural designer Rümeysa Karlıdağ and interior architect Nihatcan Danış attended the conference held at the Mimar Sinan Hall of IGMYO.

In the conference, which was pleasant and sincere in the light of the questions of the students, questions about the field of "Architecture and Interior Architecture" and the sector were discussed. The 1st and 2nd-year students of the Interior Design Program, by coming together with the speakers who expressed their knowledge and experience on the business and environmental impacts of the industry, had the opportunity to ask all the questions they were curious about.

Architectural designer Rümeysa Karlıdağ, one of our graduates, explained to our students the activities carried out through the photographs of the Fatih Municipality Sezai Karakoç Library, where she is currently the site manager. Many topics such as the start of the construction site process, the order in which the teams should arrive at the construction site, and how to communicate with the working craftsmen were discussed.

Interior designer Nihatcan Danış answered questions from students about furniture design and manufacturing. The studies on the housing project that he designed and manufactured were examined. Nihatcan Danış, who explained his designs and the manufacturing processes of their projects to our students, warned them about the points they should pay attention to and talked about the tricks of the job.

Through this activity, the students got an idea about what they would encounter in business life while finding answers to the questions they were curious about. In particular, this information that the first year students gained before their internship experience helped them gain ideas for choosing the right internship place.
