 Japan Confirms 'Activision' Purchase

Competition regulator has officially approved Japan's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which Microsoft has applied for. JFTC, the Japan Fair Trade Commission, gave information that there would be no competition concerns.

According to the Japanese fair trade commission officials, Japan announced to the public that, as the competition regulator, there is no problem with Microsoft's purchase of Activision Blizzard and that they will not put any obstacles in the way of this agreement.
The CMA, known as the UK's competition regulator, gave a similar statement, or rather the signal, to the statement made by the Japan Fair Trade Commission. The UK's regulator, CMA, stated that they will announce their final decisions on April 26. It is seen as an important sign that the UK gave such a signal and then Japan's competition regulator JFTC took such a decision.
The Fair Trade Commission of Japan, which stated that it was reviewing the transaction and that such a transaction would not create competition in any particular trade area and would not impose a significant restriction, stated this approval. In addition, Japan's Competition Regulator JFTC added in its statement that they will not decide to block the agreement. The board, which also included the statements that Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard " falls within the scope of the safe harbor criteria for vertical business combinations, took an important step.
Stating that the purchase will not cause any restrictions on different platforms, Japan also reassures the regulatory authorities that the agreement will not be anti-competitive. Microsoft, which continues this campaign, is among the information obtained that it welcomes this announcement. It is among other information that the Japanese brand Sony is not satisfied with this decision.
The eyes are turned to the decision of the CMA on April 26, which signals that Japan will take such a decision after this decision. In light of this information, it is among the information that Microsoft's 10-year license period offered to Sony is sufficient for an alternative game.
