Meta Turkey Country Director İlke Toptaş stated that the metaverse will reach 1 billion people in the next 10 years and said: “Turkey is a growing and developing market with a high and young population. The data shows that 77 percent of small businesses in Turkey benefited from Facebook when setting up their businesses in 2021. Worldwide, more than 210 million people connect with a business in Turkey via Facebook.”
Toptaş said, “We are talking about a potential that can have a value of more than 3 trillion dollars globally and 360 billion dollars in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey in the next 10 years. We, as Meta, will continue to work for Turkey's rapid adoption of the metaverse and its productivity in this area." Speaking at the "Future Vision for Turkey" panel held within the scope of the event, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated that technological developments that will go beyond the limits of human beings can be a great opportunity. He underlined that Turkey can be a big market by pursuing a policy that aims to be not only a consumer but also a producer of technology.
