 Gelişim Vocational School students returned with an award from the Romanian Robot Competition


Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Vocational School (MYO) participated in the 12.Robochallenge 2019 Romania Robot Competition in Bucharest with “Mini Sumo (RONİN AND G-BUSTER)- Line Follower (KAI_BAT1- KAI_BAT2- KAI_BAT3) – Nano Sumo (RONİN_BIT) – Participating in four categories, Micro Sumo (RONİN_MİC), it came in 4th in the mini sumo category and was awarded the jury's special award.


The competition was first held in 2005. The competition is organized by the Bucharest Polytechnic University. World giant companies such as Microchip, IBM, Fujisoft and Mitsubishi sponsor the competition.

“Robochallenge Romania 2019” was held on 01-04 November 2019 at Politehnica University in Bucharest. This year, 158 teams participated in the competition with 615 participants and 533 robots. The number of participants is increasing every year. This year, a record was broken in attendance compared to previous years. Robochallenge is growing by adding different categories to the competition every year. Participants struggled to win in different categories of 14 competitions. Mega Sumo, Mini Sumo, Micro Sumo, Nano Sumo, Humanoid Sumo, Line Follower, Line Follower Enhanced, Maze, Football, Humanoid Robot, Freestyle Showcase, Air Racing, and also Mini Sumo and Line Follower categories for kids. . Robots with new generation technology in each category, which were awarded in many competitions in the country and international arena, also competed.

Istanbul Gelisim University Vocational School team participated in the international competition in 'Bucharest', 2 students Abdullah Yıldırım, Onur Yılmaz and Lecturer. See. He participated with a team formed with Ekrem Süzen. Successfully represented Turkey and the university in Romania in 2019 with teams from England, France, Greece, Japan, Bulgaria, Colombia, Ecuador, Latvia, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Spain and Thailand. he did. The robot designs of Gelişim Vocational School, which performed very well in the competition, received great appreciation from the participants and jury members and were awarded the special jury award. The “4. JURABOT Krasiejów 2020” robot competition and the robot competition to be held on 14-15 December 2019 Tokyo/Japan were invited to participate in the competition.
