The reactions to the Ministry of Energy's opening the way for the olive groves to be turned into mining fields by adding an additional article to the regulation are growing. TMMOB Chamber of City Planners reacted sharply to the regulation published in the Government Gazette and announced that it would file a lawsuit for the annulment of the regulation.
"While many countries make decisions to exit coal as a precaution against the climate crisis and encourage renewable energy sources, olive trees, historically one of the most important assets of the country's nature and agricultural production pattern, will be sacrificed to mines." statements were included in the speech.
