Haesimdang, a pilot social housing project serving the elderly people in the region, is located in Seoul's Dobong-gu district. Haesimdang, which means 'a house where we can live comfortably', offers health services to both the elderly people and people with limited mobility.
The Haesimdang social housing building has been carried out a brick veneer on its front in harmony with its surroundings. To underline the biophilic qualities of the architecture, specific colors (green and yellow) were applied in the two middle floors. The biophilic layer is more evident in the rooftop eco-garden, where various species and plants interact.
