Academic Study “Evaluation of Earthquake Joints and Hammering Effects in the Scope of Urban Transformation Projects and Building Stocks”

The full-text paper titled "Evaluation of Earthquake Joints and Hammering Effect in the Scope of Urban Transformation Projects and Building Stocks" by Ahmet Yavuz ŞAHİN, lecturer of Istanbul Gelişim University Gelişim Vocational School Construction Program, was presented at the 1st International Conference on Frontiers in Academic Research.
In the study, the structures that did not receive engineering service before 1999 of the Great Istanbul Earthquake expected in the North Anatolian Fault Line (NAF) and the structures that were designed according to TBDY2018 and received engineering service were modeled in the Sap2000 program with the finite element method. After modeling, according to TBDY 2018, 11 earthquakes in x and y directions were caused to the structure in line with the calculations to be made in the time history (Time History). Retrieved from the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center, an international database of earthquakes. Spectrum scaling has been done in order to choose the earthquake records correctly and to show the real behavior of the design. In the study, it was concluded that the structures designed according to TBDY2018 did not experience the hammering effect since the earthquake joint distances were sufficient. On the other hand, it has been observed that the
