Teachers' Day, celebrated since 1981, is the day when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, accepted the "Head Teacher of the Nation Schools" on November 11, 1928.
In 1981, the 100th anniversary of our great leader's birth, it was decided to present this date to all teachers across the country on the anniversary of his receiving this title.
In this context, every year 24 November is celebrated as Teachers' Day in our country.
Headteacher Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said, "Teachers; devoted teachers and educators of the Republic, you will raise the new generation. And the new generation will be your work. The value of the work will be proportional to your skill and the degree of your sacrifice. The Republic is mentally, wise, scientifically, physically strong and high." It is in your hands to raise the new generation with this characteristic and ability... Your success will be the success of the Republic." We, the educators, teachers and academicians, have determined the phrase as our roadmap and we will continue to walk on this path throughout our entire education life.
