Google Will Provide "Supercomputer" Service to Mercedes Vehicles
There is a collaboration between Google and Mercedes-Benz, and this collaboration focuses on navigation and autonomous driving software for cars.
All vehicles on Mercedes' future modular architecture platform will indeed be equipped with hyper-displays. This new hyper-display technology will combine all the screens in the car's cockpit into one large screen, giving drivers a wider field of view. In this way, drivers will be able to access all important information about the vehicle and the infotainment system more easily and quickly. The hyper screen is also integrated into Mercedes' autonomous driving technologies and will offer passengers a different visual experience in driverless vehicle mode.
Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius stated that the deal with Google is a "win-win" situation for both parties. It aims to offer "supercomputer"-like performance in its cars, using Google technologies to compete with Mercedes, Tesla, and Chinese brands. There is fierce competition in the automotive industry for software-supported features such as battery performance and remote updating. For this reason, automobile manufacturers aim to gain a competitive advantage by using the latest technologies in their vehicles by collaborating with technology companies.
