 Software Engineering Practices in Space Exploration


One of the application areas of software engineering, while providing studies for the improvement of long-term mission activities of spacecraft, provides the adaptation of the system of space vehicles against the problems caused by the variable environmental conditions of the space environment and also to meet the updated mission requirements. Advances in robotic spacecraft have markedly changed research on this subject. Spacecraft, while performing their flight missions, have started to receive much more support from software-intensive applications in remote, faster, more precise intelligent control and troubleshooting functions. Thus, the scientific data collection studies and analyzes needed to better understand our universe in many ways have developed.

Thus, the scientific data collection studies and analyzes needed to better understand our universe in many ways have developed. The American Space and Aviation Agency (NASA) sends a spacecraft every year to continue its planetary research and further space research, and continues to prepare new spacecraft to further deepen the research. Some of these vehicles are continuing their preparations for a new terrestrial robotic research vehicle to search for Jupiter and other giant planets formed, in order to map the magnetic attraction field of the moon. In addition, Mars Science Laboratory is one of the studies carried out to investigate the environmental conditions of Mars. Despite the efforts of engineers, research of robotic spacecraft operating in near-earth and deep space environments has always been problematic and dangerous.
