TUG Astronomers Use Pardus!
Astronomers working at the TÜBİTAK National Observatory (TUG) say "Open source first!" to write and operate the programs they need in their scientific studies and use the GNU/Linux operating system or Unix-based, open source operating systems. At TUG, each astronomer meets the requirements by writing their own programs according to the project and the need for the telescope they are responsible for. In fact, some programs written by our astronomers are also used by the international astronomy community.
