Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer announced that Turkey's first Space and Aviation Institute, which will train qualified human resources needed in the field of defense industry, was opened in Elmadağ district of Ankara. Ministry of National Education (MEB), Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) space and space technologies training studies have ended. Within the scope of the protocols signed in 2019, Turkey's first vocational school in the field of aerospace and aviation engineering was built in Elmadağ district of Ankara. The school, which was completed for the 2023-2024 academic year, was opened to visiting students and parents.
Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that the Ministry of National Education has taken measures in the field of space and aviation with a dynamic vocational and technical education system and said, "We have worked to open a sports hall that provides training in the field of space technology in Turkey. We opened our first vocational high school that provides education according to the curriculum in Elmadağı, Ankara. Our school, which was established on an area of 24 thousand 770 square meters, consists of 3 main buildings, including a study building, a workshop and a dormitory building. The school has 32 classrooms, 6 laboratories, 2 paint shops. Students from outside the city Accommodation in single rooms with bathroom and sink, computer and internet. Our school has all the necessary workshops and laboratory rooms. Ankara Aviation and Space Technologies Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School provides education within the project school.
