Due to the increasing forest fires in Turkey in recent years, the Aviation Department under the General Directorate of Forestry was established in order to manage the increasing air power every year in the fight against fires. Bekir Karacabey, General Manager of the General Directorate of Forestry, said, "We aim to work with 8 UAVs this year. The number of helicopters and aircraft is increasing day by day. In order to better coordinate all these aircraft, they will manage their preparations in a more comprehensive manner, through the Department of Aviation. we will do it,” he said.
Air power is increasing every year in the fight against forest fires in Turkey. Last year, 39 helicopters, 3 amphibious aircraft and 4 UAVs were used in forest fires. This year, it is aimed to increase the air power even more. Due to the increase in the air fleet every year, the Department of Aviation was established within the General Directorate of Forestry. Air power, which will be used in 2022 to respond to forest fires, will be managed under the Aviation Department headed by Mahmut Okudan.
