A new report from Google’s Threat Analysis Group (TAG) states that hackers are using a tool called HYPERSCAPE. Built in 2020 by the group known as Charming Kitten, HYPERSCAPE is considered to be quite dangerous.
In order for this system to work, either users’ account credentials must be captured or session cookies must be stolen. Once that information is available, the tool will trick the email service into believing it is being accessed through an old browser and will make it switch to a basic HTML view.
