Qualcomm has reached an agreement with TSMC for its new processor. the processor will be manufactured with 4nm technology and will use 1 3.19GHz ARM Cortex-X3, 2 2.8GHz ARM Cortex-A715, 2 2.8GHz ARM Cortex-A710 and 3 2.0GHz ARM Cortex-A510 cores. Qualcomm, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will feature the Adreni 740 graphical interface that supports Ray Tracing technology. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will provide a 30 percent performance increase compared to its predecessor. In terms of energy efficiency, it was announced that the new model will perform 40 percent better.
Qualcomm underlined that artificial intelligence capabilities have been taken to the next level in its new processor. Instant data flow can be provided in natural language processing (NLP) operations. In other words, users' conversations can be instantly translated into other languages.
The new processor will be available with 4K resolution and 60Hz support. Smartphone manufacturers will be able to offer a 144Hz refresh rate on QHD Plus panels.
One of the most important changes in the processor has been made on the camera side. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor will come with 200 Megapixel support. Users will be able to record 30FPS video in 8K HDR settings. There is also hardware artificial intelligence support in the processor to improve camera performance.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor will be available on the phones with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Users will have ultra-fast smartphones thanks to the new processor.
