The Ministry of Culture and Tourism Announced Detailed Visitor Statistics for December and the Whole Year 2022.
In line with the data announced by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of visitors to Turkey in December increased by 13.31 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 2 million 813 thousand.
Looking at the 12-month period between January and December, a total of 51 million 387 visitors entered Turkey, of which 6 million 813 thousand were citizens residing abroad and 44 million 564 thousand were foreigners. Looking at the data, the number of visitors entering Turkey has increased significantly by 71.07 percent compared to 2021.
In December, the highest number of tourists came to Turkey from Russia with 287 thousand, followed by Bulgaria with 260 thousand, Germany with 197 thousand, Iran with 145 thousand and Georgia with 143 thousand.
Russia fell to second place
In 2022, the most tourists came from Germany with 5 million 679 thousand. When we look at the year 2022, when we look at Russia, where the most tourists come with 4 million 302 thousand tourists, this year it has regressed to the second place with 5 million 232 thousand tourists.
The third rank is England with 3 million 370 thousand tourists, the fourth place is Bulgaria with 2 million 882 thousand tourists, and the fifth place is Iran with 2 million 335 thousand tourists.
According to 2021, 84.08 percent in the number of tourists coming to our country from Germany, 78.82 percent in the number of tourists from Russia, 758.25% in the number of tourists from England, 105.48 percent in the number of tourists from Bulgaria and Iran. Considering the number of tourists from Turkey, an increase of 102.16 percent was recorded.
