Şanlıurfa was chosen as the "2023 tourism city" at the 11th Tourism Ministers Conference of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
According to the statement made by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the 11th Tourism Ministers Conference of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, where Turkey was represented by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Özgül Özkan Yavuz, Şanlıurfa became the 2023 tourism city of Islamic countries.
Khiva city of Uzbekistan was determined as the tourism city of 2024.
Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy also wished the decision to be beneficial with the message he shared on his social media account.
