EMITT Will Host More Than 40 thousand Visitors
Pointing out that the Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair EMITT is an important platform that can offer completely new business and cooperation opportunities to all participants, professional local and international visitors, Hacer Aydın, Director of EMITT Tourism Fair, said “We hosted 33,595 visitors and nearly 500 participants together. This year, we can say that we have reached the figures we have reached before, and that we can even exceed these figures. So far, more than 600 participants from more than 20 countries have shared net participation information. We anticipate that these numbers will increase substantially in the coming period.”
Stating that many metropolitan cities and regions with tourism brands from Turkey will take place in EMITT, Aydın said, “We aim to exceed 40 thousand in our number of both domestic and foreign visitors this year” and continued her words as follows: “Together with the changing and developing world. Tourism Revenues of 45 Billion Dollars
The tourism sector entered the recovery process in 2022 by reducing the negative effects of the pandemic less. Turkey ended the year 2022 with 47 million tourists and 37 billion dollars in tourism revenue. While the per capita overnight tourism income increased to 83-84 dollars in 2022, the per capita overnight income, which decreased to 62 dollars in 2019, increased by 35 percent. Turkey's 2023 tourism target is expected to be 55 million tourists and 45 billion dollars in tourism income, while it is aimed to increase the per capita overnight income to 90-95 dollars.
