 Our National Women's Handball Team is on its way to the World Championship




Our National Women's Handball Team, which showed up to participate in the 2023 IHF World Handball Championship, matched with Great Britain in the 1st Round of the European qualifiers. In the first of the matches played over the return leg, our national team defeated Great Britain with a score of 39-14.
Our National Women's Handball Team, which also showed a superior game in the return match, passed its rival Great Britain with a score of 44-16 this time and qualified for the playoffs in the World Championship European qualifiers.
With these results, our National Women's Handball Team, which passed the 1st round, matches with Serbia in the play-off round of the 26th IHF World Women's Handball Championship, which will be held in November. Our National Women's Handball Team, which will play its first match against Serbia on April 7 in Giresun in the play-off round of the 2023 IHF World Championship European Qualifications, continues its preparations in Ankara.
A National Women's Handball Team, led by head coach Costica Buceschi, will continue its activities at Ankara THF Sports Complex until March 5th. The National Team will play two friendly matches with the North Macedonia National Team during the camp. Both matches, which will be played on March 2 and 4 at THF Sports Complex, will start at 17.00.
A National Women's Handball Team will host Serbia in the first match of the 2023 IHF World Championship European Qualifications play-off tour on Friday, April 7 at 18:00 at Giresun Hüseyin Avni Alparslan Sports Hall. The return leg of this match will be played on Wednesday, April 12 at 20:00 at the Sportski Centar Vozdovac in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.
If it eliminates its opponent in the play-off round, our National Team will qualify for the World Championship. The 26th IHF World Women's Handball Championship will be co-hosted by Denmark, Norway, and Sweden in 2023 by the International Handball Federation.
We congratulate our athletes who represent our country with their performance in the European qualifiers and wish them success in representing our country at the World Championships by displaying outstanding success in the competitions they will play in April.
