Student: How did Ziya Çiçek start this business?
At the age of 15, I was excitedly thrown into the sector in municipal theaters. When I went to the army at the age of 23, I had 6 months of acting experience in Ankara. My valuable master Altan Gördüm watched my play. Then they called me to Istanbul. I met Vahide Perçin at 35 Buçuk Academy. I started to receive training at the academy, and then Vahide teacher coached me for 2 years. After sectoral meetings and warm contacts, job offers started to come. I have been in the movie industry for 9 years.
Student: What is a casting director? What is management? How is actor design based on what?
M.A: It is choosing the right group of actors for the story of a project. We choose the right cast to make the audience feel that the person is real. For example: We cannot cast a botoxed actress to play a peasant woman. An agent is a person who knows the directors and producers in the industry and tries to place the actors in the right project. It makes the actor's career planning.
Student: What do you think about today's TV series? The general perception is beautiful girl and handsome boy...
Their work is commercial. Since the producers have commercial concerns, handsome and beautiful girls are played. Quality content is not produced. The idea is that let's raise a star and acting will be all right. When we sink into art films, it is not possible to see those names.
While the esteemed actor Ziya Çiçek and Cast Director Melike Aydın took the last questions of the students, they gave the following advice. "Read a lot, watch a lot, keep good communication with everyone. If you do this job properly, the teams you will work with will be shaped accordingly and you will take part in quality projects. It will be a very challenging road, don't give up the struggle."
