 Edirne was the Subject of the Frame of Development Students


Gelisim University organized a shooting trip to Edirne.


Gelisim University students had the opportunity to get to know the history and beauties of Edirne, the former capital of the Ottoman Empire, and immortalized the city with their photographs.
 
Istanbul Gelisim Vocational School Radio and Television Programming and Photography and Videography lecturers and students participated in the shooting trip, which was accompanied by Advertising Photographer Selçuk ÖZEKEN.

During the shooting trip, students had the chance to experience travel photography by seeing the history of Edirne, its architectural texture and the immortal works of Mimar Sinan. During the trip, in addition to the university lecturers, photographer Selçuk ÖZEKEN had the students practice Architectural Photography, Travel Photography and Portrait Photography.
 
"THE OLD MOSQUE WHERE THE GREAT MASTER ARA GÜLER TOOK HIS FAMOUS PHOTOGRAPH WAS VISITED"
 
The shooting trip started at the Kıyık Bastion, which houses the Şükrü Pasha Monument and the Balkan War Museum, and continued at the Selimiye Mosque, which Mimar Sinan called his masterpiece. At the Selimiye Mosque, in addition to architectural photo shoots, reproduction shoots related to Turkish Art design elements and motifs and effective background usage applications in photography were made. Afterwards, Edirne Old Mosque, which is also the subject of Ara Güler's famous work, was visited. Students tried to understand how the great master Ara Güler used the space and how he preferred to frame his work while taking his photographs in the Old Mosque, which is famous for its calligraphy works, by experimenting and practicing.

After shooting in Selimiye Arastasi and Ali Pasha Bazaar to capture the unique spirit of the city, Sultan Beyazıt II Complex and the Healing House were visited. The students saw that in the past, the patients in the Healing House were treated with music and had a conversation with the students about the necessity of art to serve science and the human spirit even in ancient times such as the Middle Ages. The club trip ended after taking landscape and portrait photographs at the last stop, Meriç Bridge and Meriç River.
