Istanbul Gelisim Vocational School Lecturer Murat Karaova's "Women Painters 1" exhibition was presented to art lovers at the opening ceremony at Istanbul Gelişim University Gelişim Art Gallery.
Activities continue at Istanbul Gelişim University Gelişim Art Gallery. The art gallery, which hosts many national and international solo and group exhibitions, met with art lovers after the opening ceremony of the "Our Women Artists 1" exhibition, which includes 11 works by Murat Karaova, a Lecturer from Istanbul Gelişim Vocational School (IGMYO). The exhibition features women painters who have left their mark on the art of painting, from the Ottoman period to the Republican period, and until today.
The opening speech of the exhibition, curated by Asst. Prof. Mustafa Günay, was made by Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin, Rector of Istanbul Gelişim University. Şahin stated that a country without art cannot have a civilization, and that art is the measure of civilization. Expressing that art is discriminated against, he added that they want to move art up and combine technique and art at Istanbul Gelişim University.
The curator of the exhibition, Istanbul Gelisim Vocational School Asst. Prof. Mustafa Günay, stated that there were not only 11 female painters from the Ottoman period to the present day, therefore, "Our Women Painters 2" and "Our Women Painters 3" exhibitions will follow after the "Women Painters 1" exhibition. Günay congratulated Karaova by emphasizing that the "Our Women Artists" exhibition will be a series.
Murat Karaova, the Lecturer of Istanbul Gelişim Vocational School, whose works are in the exhibition, stated that his biggest goal is to inspire his students. She stated that our female artists, who lived in the past, have made good things happen in our country after many difficulties and struggles, and that our students need to work hard so that we can move our country forward and do good things.
