 “Assembly Area Organization Training” Provided to Our Academic/Administrative Staff and Students




"Assembly Area Organization Training" was given to the members of Istanbul Gelişim University on 28-29 December 2022 by the Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) and Search and Rescue Association (AKUT). The training was carried out within the scope of the “Disaster Volunteers Project”.

Within the scope of the Disaster Volunteers Project, information is provided on issues such as what to do and how to behave in natural disasters such as the great Istanbul earthquake and in emergencies. Within the scope of the project, training was provided to the academic/administrative staff and students of Istanbul Gelişim University in cooperation with the Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) and Search and Rescue Association (AKUT). The training was given by Disaster Volunteers Project trainers within a certain program. The trainings held on December 28, 2022 and December 29, 2022 were held at the same time intervals in the classrooms designated in different faculties and vocational schools of our university. In Istanbul Gelişim Vocational School, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, between 09:00 and 17:00, transfers were made to our academic/administrative staff and students to raise awareness about disasters and emergencies.

In the “Assembly Area Organization Training”, it was explained where the meeting areas and meeting places are and what it means in order to prevent chaos and panic in disasters and emergencies. The preparations to be made for a possible big Istanbul earthquake and what to do during and after the earthquake were explained. The web page created by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality regarding the earthquake was transferred. The importance of crime scene management and recording system after the earthquake was mentioned and explanations were made about the role of volunteers. After the trainings, the trainers of the Disaster Volunteers Project gave the volunteers a certificate of participation.
