Social Mentor Program for Earthquake Victims Prepared for the university's start

With the social responsibility project called “Social Mentor” carried out by Istanbul Gelişim University, Turkish Psychology Students Working Group (TPÖÇG), and Metvibes, students who were affected by the earthquake and prepared for the university will be supported by mentoring.

The "Social Mentor" program is being held in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023, to ensure that students preparing for university, who were affected by many aftershocks and earthquakes, do not feel alone, and be by their side during this difficult adaptation process.

The “Social Mentor” program aims to support the psychological, social, and academic development of earthquake survivors who are preparing for university. Our students who want to be mentors in the project will support the young people affected by the earthquake and prepare for university.

In the social responsibility project, where university students will be mentors voluntarily, volunteer mentors will receive training to manage this sensitive process in a quality manner. The training will be held online as of March 13, 2023. After the training, earthquake victim students and mentor students, who are preparing for the university, will have 45-minute meetings with the planned agenda one day a week. With these meetings, the progress of earthquake survivor students who are preparing for the university will be followed and they will be assisted.

Students who want to be a mentor in the "Social Mentor" program can apply until Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Volunteer mentors will help earthquake-affected students prepare for university with the training that will start on Monday, March 13, 2023, following the application process.
