 What is Herzberg Two Factor Theory?


Since the 19th century, many studies have been carried out on the motivation of employees in the workplace and the effects of their motivation on work efficiency. Many theories have been developed on work efficiency and motivation, and Herzberg Theory, one of the most well-known among these theories, is the Double Factor Theory, known as Motivation - Hygiene Theory, developed by the American Psychologist Frederick Herzberg.


The Herzberg Two Factor Theory is based on meeting the multifaceted needs of employees in order to ensure workplace working order and productivity. According to the theory, the needs of employees are divided into hygiene and motivating factors. hygiene factors; company policy, wages, job security, interpersonal relations, audit; Recognition, success and responsibility are listed as motivating factors.
