Selcuk University Faculty of Technology Lecturer Dr. Instructor A virtual laboratory application was developed for occupational health and safety under the consultancy of its member Selahattin Alan. In the developed virtual laboratory application, scenarios are created according to the content of occupational health and safety trainings.
In the practice, employees are provided to experience the factory environment by participating in a realistic way before they go to work. Employees are made aware of dangers and risks before they experience them in real life. Effective participation of employees is carried out in the trainings that are required to be given in the workplaces. Due to the fact that the training provided to all employees in the workplaces is not effective enough, the rate of reducing work accidents is not at the desired level. According to the data of ILO (International Labor Organization) and WHO (World Health Organization), 1 occupational accident occurs every 15 seconds around the world.
