Employment Support for Millions of Social Security Employees
The support package that concerns millions of people working as SGK members in Turkey has been announced. The amount of employer premium support and the number of beneficiaries of this support increased. While the support of up to 48 thousand TL was provided for employers providing services and employment in the manufacturing sector, support of up to 35 thousand TL was provided for other sectors.
Incentives and support packages continue to be provided, especially for young people and women, to expand employment and increase the number of insured employees. Premium incentives are provided for the employment of people who receive unemployment benefits, social assistance, and minimum wage support. More than 12 million people benefit from employer premium support for periods of up to 60 months. The premium support amounts given for businesses employing the unemployed are calculated over the upper income. According to the calculations, these amounts vary between 2 thousand 51 TL and 15 thousand 387 TL.
Occupational health and safety are also prioritized in employer premium support. In cases where young people, women, and people with a professional certificate are employed, support is provided between 6 months and 54 months, depending on age. In addition, incentives are given to people who are young entrepreneurs. There is an 18-29 age limit to benefit from young entrepreneur incentives. Young people who have opened a business since 1 June 2018 can benefit from the support of young entrepreneurs. The amounts determined for young entrepreneur incentives cover amounts from 115 TL per day to 3 thousand 452 TL per month.
