Asbestos awareness trainings are organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Union of Municipalities of Turkey (TBB).

What is Asbestos?
Asbestos is a harmful carcinogenic mineral with a fibrous structure of asbestos or asbestos. It is very resistant to heat, chemicals and abrasion. What Are the Harms of Asbestos?
Asbestos entering the body through respiration causes many health problems, including the risk of cancer. It causes diseases such as fluid collection in the lungs, thickening of the pleura, calcification and causing wounds on the skin.
Asbestos is included in “Group 1” in the category of “definitely carcinogenic” substances in the category lists published every year by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).

What to Do to Avoid Asbestos?
There should be people who have received special training in asbestos usage areas and they should have the necessary personal protective equipment. Those working in these areas should be informed about the health risks that people may be exposed to. In areas where asbestos is heavily used, settlements should be prohibited. Persons who will work in these areas should stop for short periods and wear respiratory masks. Details can be found here.
