299 Million New Job Opportunities with Equality Investments
In the report published by the International Labor Organization (ILO), it is aimed to create 299 million new jobs by 2035 with the investments to be made in the fields of equal leave opportunities according to gender, child care and long-term care services that will be valid for all.
The report, which includes investments in care leave and services for a gender fair working environment, states that the maternity protection provided to 649 million women of reproductive age is insufficient. Although paid maternity leave is one of the universal working rights within the scope of maternity leave, it was observed that these conditions were not met in 82 of the 185 countries examined. With the investments to be made in general child care and long-term care activities, it is foreseen that 299 million additional jobs will be created.
