According to the data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the ratio of R&D expenditures made from the central government budget to the Gross Domestic Product of 7 trillion 209 billion TL was 0.28 percent.
When classification is made according to the share allocated for R&D activities, it has been announced that the most R&D funding is allocated to universities with 48.3%. In order; Defense field with 15.6 percent, industrial production and technology fields with 10.3 percent received the highest share in investments. According to the calculations made within the 2022 central government budget, it was announced that 26 billion 307 million TL was allocated for R&D activities.
