100 Thousand Volunteers Target in Combating Forest Fires
Those who want to volunteer in the fight against forest fires continue to receive training. The target of forest fire volunteers has been determined as 100 thousand, and 23 thousand 751 volunteers are present.
Volunteer trainings, which were started to be given by OGM (General Directorate of Forestry) in 2021, reached 23 thousand 751 people as of the end of December, and it is aimed to increase this number to 100 thousand by the end of May. The support of people who have received voluntary training in order to assist the professional teams of the General Directorate of Forestry in the fight against forest fires is of vital importance.
In these volunteer trainings; Participants are provided with general information on forest fires, fire fighting methods, personal protective equipment, equipment used and occupational safety, as well as drills and practical training. Certificates are given to those who are successful in the exam to be held at the end of the training.
