Tesla decided to update the software for its own computer after raising concerns that US security officials would allow their weight to exceed their limits or to cross intersections unsafely.
The recall affects approximately 363,000 vehicles in the US, according to briefings and filings with the US government. Tesla stated that he was not aware of any injuries or deaths related to the issues in this regard. US authorities investigated the firm's autopilot system. According to the recall notice, officials from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) met with Tesla in January to voice their concerns about the "full self-driving beta" software. NHTSA said the system allows behavior that may violate local laws or customs, such as driving a yellow light, driving straight at an intersection through a turn-only lane, or not stopping completely at a stop sign. FSD Beta software, which allows a vehicle to exceed speed limits and cross intersections illegally or unpredictably, increases the risk of an accident, he said. According to the dossier, Tesla said he disagreed with the agency's conclusions, but that it had decided to recall because of too much caution. Last year, Tesla recalled nearly 54,000 vehicles for allowing cars to pass through stop signs.
Elon Musk did not directly comment on the final decision, but in a tweet he posted on Thursday, the word "recall" for a Wireless software update is outdated and completely wrong! He made his statement.
