Insect-sized UAV

Allocating 7% of its annual turnover to R&D every year, ASELSAN follows rapidly developing and changing technological innovations such as biodefense, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, autonomy and mechatronics. ASELSAN Research Center, under the R&D Management Deputy General Directorate, stated that it has put micro-aircrafts inspired by insects on its agenda. In this direction, studies are carried out on smart materials, wing aerodynamics and docile mechanisms. These vehicles have many advantageous features such as gliding, maneuvering, low radar surface cross-section, and ease of producing high lift force. It seems suitable for use in many important areas such as search and rescue and operating in toxic environments.
