According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly; Istanbul ranked second after Yalova in the export regions of the ship and yacht industry. Ships and yachts were exported to more than 20 countries in 2021, with the most exports from Scandinavian countries to Norway. After Norway, Russia became the country with the most ship and yacht exports.
For the Yalova region, despite the Covid pandemic, 2021 was a successful year for the ship and yacht industry thanks to early diagnosis and filiation applications. In Yalova shipyards, there was a year in which both production power was maintained and growth was realized. Altınova shipyards, located in Yalova region, are in a convenient position to work safely due to the sheltered geographical location of the coast and the opportunity to work without affecting the maritime traffic. At the same time, there has been a great demand for our country in the field of maintenance and repair of the ship and yacht industry. Yalova Region is on the way to become Europe's new ship and yacht building-maintenance-repair base due to the shift of boutique-style ship orders from Far East countries to closer places during the pandemic period.
