 The Amount of Cargo Handled at Our Ports Increased in October


In October 2022, the total amount of cargo handled at our ports increased by 13% in solid bulk cargoes and 12.6% in liquid bulk cargoes. Compared to October of the previous year, the total amount of cargo handled increased by 3.8% and reached 45 million 883 thousand 290 tons.

In the period of January-October 2022, the amount of cargo handled at our ports increased by 4.6% compared to the previous year and reached 454 million 763 thousand 670 tons. In October, foreign trade shipments increased by 5.7% compared to the same month of the previous year and became 34 million 207 thousand 476 tons. The amount of loading for export purposes decreased by 2.7% and became 12 million 962 thousand 542 tons, while the amount of unloading for import purposes increased by 11.7% to 21 million 244 thousand 934 tons.
In October, the amount of cargo carried in cabotage increased by 3.5% compared to the same month of the previous year, with 5 million 351 thousand 457 tons. In October, there was a 5.3% decrease in transit cargo shipments by sea compared to the same month of the previous year. In October, the amount of containers handled at our ports decreased by 9.8% with a total of 1 million 2 thousand 395 TEUs compared to the same month of the previous year. In the period from January to October, the amount of containers handled at our ports decreased by 0.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, as 10 million 357 thousand 752 TEUs in total.
